Pursuit of Happiness

Happiness. What does that mean to you?

All these while I’ve just came upon my realization that all I ever talk about or dream about is success. To achieve what I dreamed about. Not necessarily in terms of materialistic wants but to succeed in what I’ve set my goals for in general.

But it all came down to the bottom question, why am I striving so hard for success?

Today, a new God had proliferated. Idols of wealth, success and power.

In today’s context, success would mean power, wealth and the level of status in society.

But all these definitions of success seem so ephemeral. We are deluded and brainwashed that wealth and power is happiness. But would these bring us to true happiness?

Today, I will bring myself back to my roots, back to earth. Back to the simple truth that the simple and small things in life would bring us pure and true happiness.

Remember that when we leave the earth, when God calls upon us, everything that we have will count for nothing. We definitely do not want to be enslaved to the God of wealth, success and power. We definitely do not want to worship to this God which counted for nothing in eternity.

So, today, have a reflection on your sole purpose of living.
